Announcing: THE ORION PROJECT

A new non-profit research foundation named The Orion Project
(www.TheOrionProject.org) has been created to develop new, out-of-the-box energy
solutions.

Based near the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, The Orion
Project has been founded to bring together highly accomplished
scientists, researchers, inventors and thinkers who have expertise in advanced
energy generation and propulsion technologies. Their goal is to
develop bold new energy generation technologies within the next two years
that will completely replace the need for oil, gas, coal and nuclear
power.

It is known that, since the time of Nicola Tesla in the early 1900s,
advances in energy generation and propulsion systems have been developed,
only to be ignored, actively suppressed or forgotten. The Orion
Project's Director, Steven M. Greer MD, notes that:

"In the past 18 years, our team has developed a database of scientific
advances in new, clean tech energy systems that, if properly funded and
supported, have the potential to completely revolutionize how we
generate energy. These breakthroughs in physics- so-called Zero Point
Energy, electro-gravitic propulsion and other systems- have, up to this
point, been developed and hidden in illegally classified projects in the US,
UK and elsewhere. The Orion Project has identified the most qualified
brain-trust of scientists and inventors who understand this new
science, and are ready to come together to help solve the energy and
environmental crisis facing humanity today."

The Orion Project has announced a $3 million capital fund raising
campaign so that these promising clean-technology energy researchers can be
brought together in one place to build the initial proof of principle
prototype to help solve the energy crisis once and for all. This
prototype will be designed to meet all the energy needs of a typical home or
business while having a zero-carbon footprint using new electromagnetic
and related energy breakthroughs.

Dr. Greer states that, "The world needs an immediate Manhattan-style
project to find real energy solutions and deliver them to the people. Now
the public can support this quest through a tax-deductible donation.
If 100,000 people go to www.TheOrionProject.org and contribute $30 each
in the next 60 days, we will be able to open this new energy research
facility and bring together some of the best minds on the planet to help
solve our critical energy needs. Now is the time to act - the Earth
has waited long enough for humanity to come together to find a way to
live in harmony with her and with abundance and peace for all of her
children. This cannot happen with the zero-sum game of fossil fuel. Only
these new energy sciences hold the key to unlocking the wonderful future
that awaits us."

For more information on The Orion Project and its specific scientific
projects, or to request an interview with Dr. Steven Greer or Dr. Ted

MIT: Solar power storage breakthrough could bring energy 'nirvana'

Research could make current home power sources obsolete in 10 years

"August 4, 2008 (Computerworld) Researchers at MIT say they have made an energy storage breakthrough that could transform solar power from an alternative energy source to a mainstream source. The university is calling the solar project a major advancement in energy research.

Sunlight has the greatest potential of any power source to solve the world's energy problems, Daniel Nocera, the Henry Dreyfus Professor of Energy at MIT and a researcher on the project, said in a statement. In one hour, enough sunlight strikes the Earth to provide the entire planet's energy needs for one year.

The problem, however, is how best to harness that energy.

The research is a "giant leap" toward generating clean, carbon-free energy on a massive scale, said James Barber, a biochemistry professor at Imperial College London, who was not involved in the solar project.

"This is a major discovery with enormous implications for the future prosperity of humankind," Barber said in a statement. "The importance of their discovery cannot be overstated since it opens up the door for developing new technologies for energy production, thus reducing our dependence for fossil fuels and addressing the global climate change problem."

Nocera said he's hopeful that within 10 years, people will no longer power their homes using electricity-by-wire from a central source. Instead, homeowners will be able to power their homes with solar power during daylight hours and use this new energy-storage method for electricity at night.

The problem with using solar power has been figuring out an inexpensive way to store the sun's energy for those times when the sun isn't shining, said Nocera. Although it could be done, the cost is prohibitive with current technologies.

Taking a page from photosynthesis in plant life, Nocera and Matthew Kanan, a postdoctoral fellow in Nocera's lab, came up with a process (see video) to use the energy from the sun to split water into hydrogen and oxygen gases, according to a report from MIT. Later, when it's needed, the gases can be combined inside a fuel cell. That reconnection creates carbon-free electricity that can be used to power an office building, a home or even an electric car — whether the sun is shining or not.

Nocera noted that the process uses natural materials, is inexpensive to conduct and is easy to set up. "That's why I know this is going to work. It's so easy to implement," he said.

"This is the nirvana of what we've been talking about for years," said Nocera. "Solar power has always been a limited, far-off solution. Now, we can seriously think about solar power as unlimited and soon."

This isn't MIT's only foray into making solar power easier to use.

Last month, the university announced that its researchers had created a new way to harness the sun's energy by turning windows of big buildings into solar panels.

That technology, dubbed "solar concentrators," harvests light over a wide area, such as a window pane, and then concentrates or gathers it at the window's edges, Marc Baldo, a professor at MIT and head of the effort, said about the project in an MIT video. Baldo added that the technology also could be used to soup up more traditional solar panels, increasing their efficiency by 50%.

Solar panels are semiconductors (often found on rooftops) that transform sunlight into electricity. "
There is a Solution

America is blessed with the world's greatest wind power corridor and abundant reserves of clean natural gas. The Pickens Plan will utilize these tremendous resources to build a bridge to the future — a blueprint to reduce foreign oil dependence by harnessing domestic energy alternatives and buying time for us to develop even greater new technologies.

The Plan calls for building new wind generation facilities that will produce 20% of our nation's electricity and allow us to use natural gas as a transportation fuel. The combination of these domestic energies can replace more than one-third of our foreign oil imports. And we can do it all in 10 years. ........"

Carl Gustav Jung (1875–1961) was a Swiss psychiatrist who developed the field of analytical psychology and introduced the concept of archetypes of consciousness being "innate universal psychic dispositions that form the substrate from which the basic themes of human life emerge. Being universal and innate, their influence can be detected in the form of myths, symbols, rituals and instincts of human beings. Archetypes are components of the collective unconscious and serve to organize, direct and inform human thought and behaviour. ...archetypes heavily influence the human life cycle, propelling a neurologically hard-wired sequence which he called the stages of life. Each stage is mediated through a new set of archetypal imperatives which seek fulfillment in action."[1]

Centuries before Jung, the Maya introduced the very similar concept of Archetypes of Divine Consciousness. (According to the Maya, there are 20 of them.) Likewise, these Archetypes form the substrate from which individual Divine Consciousness emerges. Also being components of the collective unconscious, the Maya-identified Archetypes organize, direct and engender Divine thought and behavior in the human experience, in stages, over the course of days, months, years, ...millennia. Hard wired into the binary code of DNA and the human brain, these Archetypes are mediated through the permutations of an universal, binary, object oriented Code evident in and galactically broadcast by harmonic star cycles. The Maya perceived the astral Nature of the Code and embodied It in a "lunar calendar." Regarded as their Sacred Calendar, they call it the "Tzolkin." The Tzolkin enables them to track the cycles, the individual stages of the cycles [i.e. days] and the progressive effects of those intermeshed stages in order to further enable them to live in conscious alignment and synchronicity with the 20 Archetypes. According to the Maya, living in such alignment and synchronicity activates the inherent Divine Consciousness latent within the individual consciousness. Thus activated, the Divine Unconscious within can be consciously harnessed and channeled for communlal and personal well being.

Being both harmonic and binary in Nature, the Tzolkin's Code has been digitized and expressed in sound. As the stuff of our bodies comes from starlight, the acoustic expressions (of the Code's objects relative to the individual Archetypes) directly facilitate an exclusively positive rewiring of the brain, aligning and synchronizing its synapses with the dynamics of the respective Archetypes, and having a sympathetic effect advancing the activation of analogous higher functions of DNA. (Rather than needing to track the individual harmonic stages of the Archetypes as they naturally occur staggered over the course of months and larger spans of Time, as Maya clerics have done for centuries, the Archetypes' entire harmonic sequences can be heard in seconds.) Each of the Archetypes has been individually recorded (in great for meditation lengths) and embodied in "The Mayan Book of Wisdom" (a cognitive/consciousness enhancement software product from DarkMother.com).

On this Summer Solstice weekend, in the interest of fostering the planetary increase of Light, you can download an abridged version of The Mayan Book of Wisdom containing 3:00.00 excerpts of the full length (13:00.00) expressions of the 20 Archetypes.
"Pipeline to Peril" Europeans traded for oil

"On the European continent, Jews are under siege. The EU has turned aggressively against Israel, and the post-Holocaust taboo on anti-Semitic speech and incitement has been broken, opening the way for a plethora of anti-Jewish statements, cartoons, and caricatures.

What lies at the root of this shift? During the 1973 Yom Kippur War, the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries unleashed the oil weapon, embargoing critical oil exports to the United States and Western Europe as a strategy for compelling Israel to withdraw unconditionally from all territories occupied in the 1967 war.

The US rejected Arab demands, but the European Community (EC, later EU), more dependent on Arab oil than America, decided on a policy of outright appeasement. This led to a series of quasi-official meetings between European and Arab officials and experts that culminated in a meeting at the ministerial level in Paris on July 31, 1974. There, an agreement was reached to initiate the Euro-Arab Dialogue (EAD), an ongoing series of closed, high-level meetings between senior officials of the two sides which would enable the EC and the Arab League to formulate a new understanding on economic, cultural, and diplomatic issues. An important EAD objective was the eventual replacement of the US by the French-led European Community as the dominant influence in the Middle East. Over time, the EAD would institute a number of long-term policy agreements that guaranteed the Europeans both an uninterrupted oil supply and lucrative export contracts with oil-rich Arab states. In return, the Europeans would facilitate international recognition of the PLO at a time when its charter called for Israel's destruction, and enable Arab religious, cultural, and intellectual institutions to achieve unprecedented influence in Europe.

The Arabs also pressured the EC to relax its immigration rules and permit a massive influx of Muslims into Europe. From its inception, every EAD meeting passed resolutions in support of Muslim immigration to Europe...."

http://reformjudaismmag.org/Articles/index.cfm?id=1113

This article demonstrates that Europeans have been traded for oil. They are slaves to their gov't that traded them for oil. The US is doing the same thing. Now, I understand why legal and ILLEGAL immigration of Muslims has been rampant - it was part of the deal.
I was just thinking with the recent bouts with tornadoes. Plus, the Hurricanes of Katrina and Rita a few years back plus other natural disasters. Why don't we organize a petition or mandate of some kind to re-build using only environmentally friendly products and install more sustainable energy systems? Rather than re-building exactly the same way, here's an opportunity to implement the positive environmental changes we'd all like to see come about.

What are some of the most effective ways to bring this about? Nows the time what with the Presidential election coming up in a few months.
Would you suggest a Petition, demand an Executive Order or what?
What are your thoughts?

1952 - JOHN SEARL'S GENERATOR

John R. Searl was an electrical engineer and was employed by the Midland Electricity Board when he constructed an arrangement of spinning discs to generate and spin an electrical charge.

His apparatus consisted of a segmented rotor disc, which was set spinning at great speed through electro-magnets at its periphery. The electromagnets, energized from the rotor, were intended to boost the electro-motive force. The generator, about three foot in diameter, was first tested in the open, by Searl and a friend, in 1952.

To begin with it produced the expected electric power but an unexpectedly high voltage. This quickly exceeded a million volts producing a crackling sound and the smell of ozone. In Searl's own words: "Once the machine has passed a certain threshold of potential, the energy output exceeded the input. From then on the energy output seemed to he virtually limitless."

Then something really spectacular happened. As the generator continued to increase in potential, it lifted off the ground and broke free of its mountings and the engine. It floated in the air, all the time spinning faster and faster. The air around it glowed pink with ionisation and nearby radio receivers were switched on spontaneously due to electro-magnetic induction. Then the apparatus accelerated off into space and was never seen again.

In subsequent experiments Searl mounted his turbines, which he built up to thirty foot in diameter, more firmly in the ground. But they still tore themselves free of the Earth, taking the foundations with them. They appeared to produce a powerful anti-gravity force and from the hemispherical crater left in the ground, it was deduced that this force was operating over a sphere with the generator at its centre.

Searl had stumbled across extraordinary phenomena associated with vortex motion. He was one of a number of inventors who discovered a means of generating boundless free energy and an anti-gravity force simply by setting up spinning systems.

Michael Faraday made some remarkable but little known discoveries in regard to spinning magnets. These have been developed by a number of 20th Century inventors, including Bruce de Palma and Adam Trombly, into N-machines or Uni-polar generators. Faraday's discovery was remarkably simple but totally revolutionary. If a bar magnet is set spinning, the differential in velocity, down the radius, of each turning magnetic element, sets us a magnetic vortex. This effect is more pronounced with a series of bar magnets radiating from a central spinning hub or a spinning magnetic disc.

At a certain threshold of angular velocity, the magnetic vortex sets up an inter-dimensional energy portal through a vortex resonance. This simple arrangement is the operating principle of most free energy machines.

If a second arrangement of spinning magnets, or a spinning magnetic disc, is coupled to the first, but arranged to spin in the opposite direction, the two opposing magnetic vortices will set up an anti-gravity force.

VICTOR SCHAUBERGER

The free energy and anti-gravity properties of vortex motion were discovered quite independently by the Austrian inventor, Victor Schauberger. Victor Schauberger, famous for his construction of logging flumes, was known as the 'wizard of water".

He set icy water into spin and from this form of vortex motion he constructed a free energy, anti-gravity turbine.

Victor Schauberger was a young ranger in the
wilderness forest of Bernerau, in Austria, when
he made his first observations of the power
in vortex motion. In his own words:

"It was spawning time one early spring moonlight night, I was sitting by a waterfall waiting to catch a fish poacher. What then occurred look place so quickly that I was hardly able to comprehend. In the moonlight falling directly onto the crystal clear water, every movement of the fish, gathered in large numbers could be observed. Suddenly the trout dispersed due to the appearance of a particularly large fish which swim up from below to confront the waterfall. It seemed as if it wished to disturb the other trout and danced in great twisting movements in the undulating water as it swam quickly to and fro. Then as suddenly the large trout disappeared in the jet of the waterfall which glistened like falling metal. I saw it fleetingly under a conically-shaped stream of water, dancing in a wild spinning movement the reason for which was not at first clear to me. It then came out of this spinning movement and floated motionlessly upwards. On reaching the lower curve of the waterfall it tumbled over and with a strong push reached behind the upper curve of the waterfall"

"Deep in thought I filled my pipe and as I wended my way homewards, smoked it to the end. I often subsequently saw the same sequence of play of a trout jumping a high waterfall."

Schauberger also observed that the vortex motion of water, a little above freezing, generated the power to lift rounded boulders but he was especially intrigued by trout in the mountain streams. How was it they could remain motionless, as if suspended, in fast flowing water, then dart like lightning upstream? Schauberger was convinced that the turbulence and vortex motion of water, at its greatest density, generated a force in the opposite direction to the flow of the stream. He believed that this force was responsible for lifting the boulders and that trout could seek out the upstream flow of energy and use it to remain motionlessly suspended in the fast flow of water or to propel them upstream and over waterfalls. He believed that trout also employed a force generated by the spiral motion of water passing from its gills over the surface of its body.

Victor Schauberger was convinced that the conical vortex or cycloid spiral was a source of energy. To test his idea he set himself the task of building a vortex turbine based on the same principle of twisting, reeling and spinning he had observed in the fast flowing waters of freezing mountain streams. His most successful designs were based on the corkscrew shaped spirals expelled from the gills of trout so he called his apparatus the trout turbine.

THE TURBINE BEGAN TO GENERATE
MORE ELECTRICITY THAN THE INPUT
MOTOR WAS CONSUMING

In all his experiments Schauberger found that the temperature and structure of the water was critical as was the shape of his turbine and the materials out of which it was constructed. In the early 1930's he fabricated conical pipes of special materials which contained a corkscrew turbine. Operated by an electric motor, the spiral turbines screwed water into a vortex flow and directed the water onto a conventional water turbine coupled to a generator. Schauberger claimed that as the water was screwed faster and faster, it suddenly began to produce enormous amounts of energy. Coupled to a dynamo, the turbine began to generate more electricity than the input motor was consuming.

The system quickly went out of control as the apparatus tore itself away from its holdings and smashed itself against the ceiling. When Schauberger experimented with air turbines he found the same thing happened. Regardless of the medium, vortex motion seemed to generate energy, apparently out of nowhere, and also produced a powerful anti-gravity force.

IT WENT RIGHT THROUGH THE ROOF OF THE FACTORY

Just before the outbreak of the Second World War a Vienna firm called KertI were constructing and testing Schauberger's vortex turbines with a view to using them in aircraft engines. An engineer called Aloys Kokaly was employed in the manufacture of certain parts. On one occasion when he delivered the parts to the KertI factory he was told, "This must be prepared for Mr Schauberger on orders from higher authority, but when it's finished, it's going out onto the street, because on an earlier test on one of these strange contraptions, it went right through the roof of the factory."

JOSEPH NEWMAN

An American inventor, Joseph Newman also found that free energy could be obtained from vortex motion. His apparatus set electromagnetic fields spinning. Newman's machine consisted of a number of rotating magnets wound with copper wire to form a reciprocating magnetic armature. According to Newman, as the armature was set spinning, an electromagnetic force was induced and set into a spiral pattern of motion around the current carrying copper wire.

Like the other vortex generators, Newman's apparatus appeared to produce energy out of nowhere. In The Guardian, March 21, 1986, it was reported that in 1985, Dr Roger Hastings, chief physicist for the Sperry-Univac Corporation tested Newman's apparatus. He found that the production efficiency of the machine was far greater than 100%.

On September 20th, 1985, Hastings issued an affidavit to the effect that ...

On September 19th, 1985, the motor was operated at 1,000 and 2,000 volts battery input, with output powers of 50 and 100 watts respectively. Input power in these tests were 7 and 14 watts yielding efficiencies of 700% and 1,400% respectively...

Searl, Schauberger and Newman, working independently, all discovered the same thing, vortex motion produced free energy in apparent defiance of the laws of thermodynamics. The free-energy machines they constructed are called OVER-UNITY machines because they operated in excess of 100% efficiency.

The experiments of Searl, de Palma, Trombly, Schauberger and Newman have not been repeated in the university establishments nor have their claims been taken seriously by professional scientists on the basis that it is impossible to get energy out of nowhere. Free energy researchers have either been opposed, ignored or labelled as pseudoscientists and their apparatus dismissed as 'perpetual motion machines'.

1987 - PERPETUAL MOTION PORSCHE

In 1987 Newman had his generator operating as the engine of a car built on a Porsche chassis. Started by a battery the car ran without any input of fuel. However, the American Patent Office refused to grant him a patent on his invention on the grounds that it was, to all intents and purposes, a perpetual motion machine.

On the basis that perpetual motion is impossible, alleged inventions of perpetual motion machines are refused patents, consequently the commercial development of his engine was effectively blocked. When Trombly attempted to patent his uni-polar generator he was turned down by the U.S. patent office on similar grounds. Nonetheless, the U.S. Defence authorities took out a court order against him and threatened him with 10 year imprisonment for infringing secret government research into uni-polar generators.

Schauberger thought he had discovered a means of 'cold nuclear fusion'. He described his vortex turbines as 'implosion devices'. However, his research was discouraged by the Allies.

FREE ENERGY COVER-UP BY USA-USSR-UK ALLIANCE

Shortly after the end of World War II a group of American military personnel arrived at Schauberger's home in Vienna, seized his apparatus and took him into 'protective custody'. What they left behind was then destroyed by Soviet agents, who blew up his apartment. The American authorities forbade him to resume his research under threat of re-arrest.

The British authorities treated Searl in much the same way.

In 1982, whilst he was in the middle of an experiment at his home in Mortimer, Berkshire, England, a group of officials entered the house, confiscated his apparatus and tore out the electrical wiring.

He was prosecuted for stealing electricity and fined.

His apparatus was never returned so he refused to pay the fine. He was then sent to prison for contempt of court.

Whilst so detained his home was set on fire and most of his apparatus and records were destroyed.

This episode led to the breakdown of his marriage.

Famed geneticist creating life form that turns CO2 to fuel

"MONTEREY, California (AFP) - A scientist who mapped his genome and the genetic diversity of the oceans said Thursday he is creating a life form that feeds on climate-ruining carbon dioxide to produce fuel.

Geneticist Craig Venter disclosed his potentially world-changing "fourth-generation fuel" project at an elite Technology, Entertainment and Design conference in Monterey, California.

"We have modest goals of replacing the whole petrochemical industry and becoming a major source of energy," Venter told an audience that included global warming fighter Al Gore and Google co-founder Larry Page.

"We think we will have fourth-generation fuels in about 18 months, with CO2 as the fuel stock."

Simple organisms can be genetically re-engineered to produce vaccines or octane-based fuels as waste, according to Venter.

Biofuel alternatives to oil are third-generation. The next step is life forms that feed on CO2 and give off fuel such as methane gas as waste, according to Venter.

"We have 20 million genes which I call the design components of the future," Venter said. "We are limited here only by our imagination."

His team is using synthetic chromosomes to modify organisms that already exist, not making new life, he said. Organisms already exist that produce octane, but not in amounts needed to be a fuel supply.

"If they could produce things on the scale we need, this would be a methane planet," Venter said. "The scale is what is critical; which is why we need to genetically design them."

The genetics of octane-producing organisms can be tinkered with to increase the amount of CO2 they eat and octane they excrete, according to Venter.

The limiting part of the equation isn't designing an organism, it's the difficulty of extracting high concentrations of CO2 from the air to feed the organisms, the scientist said in answer to a question from Page.

Scientists put "suicide genes" into their living creations so that if they escape the lab, they can be triggered to kill themselves.

Venter said he is also working on organisms that make vaccines for the flu and other illnesses.

"We will see an exponential change in the pace of the sophistication of organisms and what they can do," Venter said.

"We are a ways away from designing people. Our goal is just to make sure they survive long enough to do that."

February 24, 2008

"In Breakthrough, Virgin Atlantic Flies Jumbo Jet Powered by Biofuel From London's Heathrow

LONDON (AP) -- Virgin Atlantic carried out the world's first flight of a commercial aircraft powered with biofuel on Sunday in an effort to show it can produce less carbon dioxide than normal jet fuels.

Some analysts praised the jumbo jet test flight from London to Amsterdam as a potentially useful experiment. But others criticized it as a publicity stunt and noted scientists are questioning the environmental benefits of biofuels.

"This breakthrough will help Virgin Atlantic to fly its planes using clean fuel sooner than expected," Sir Richard Branson, the airline's president, said before the Boeing 747 flew from London's Heathrow Airport to Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport.

He said the flight would provide "crucial knowledge that we can use to dramatically reduce our carbon footprint," he said.

Sunday's flight was partially fueled with a biofuel mixture of coconut and babassu oil in one of its four main fuel tanks. The jet carried pilots and several technicians, but no passengers.

Virgin Atlantic spokesman Paul Charles predicted this biofuel would produce much less CO2 than regular jet fuel, but said it will take weeks to analyze the data from Sunday's flight.

"It's great that somebody like Richard is willing to put some of his billions into an experiment aimed at reducing the climate change impact of aviation," said James Halstead, an airline analyst at the London stockbroker Dawnay Day Lochart.

"But there are a lot of unanswered questions about the usefulness of biofuels in the battle against global warming," he said.

The flight is the latest example of how the world's airlines are jumping on the environmental bandwagon by trying to find ways of reducing aviation's carbon footprint.

These efforts have included finding alternative jet fuels, developing engines that burn existing fuels more slowly, and changing the way planes land.

The experiment by Virgin Atlantic and its partners -- Boeing, General Electric and Imperium Renewables -- also comes at a time when high oil prices and the U.S. economic slowdown are promoting consolidation in the airline industry.

Aircraft engines cause noise pollution and emit gases and particulates that reduce air quality and contribute to global warming and global dimming, where dust and ash from natural and industrial sources block the sun to create a cooling effect.

About a year ago, the European Commission, the executive of the European Union, said greenhouse gas emissions from aviation account for about 3 percent of the total in the EU and have increased by 87 percent since 1990 as air travel cheapened.

Charles said Virgin's Boeing 747-400 jet and its engines did not have to be redesigned to use biofuel on the test flight.

He said CO2 emissions on a normal flight are generally three times the fuel burned, and that technical engineers on the test flight would take readings and analyze data to estimate its greenhouse gas emissions."

The End of the Light Bulb as We Know It

By Marianne Lavelle
December 19, 2007

"The incandescent light bulb, one of the most venerable inventions of its era but deemed too inefficient for our own, will be phased off the U.S. market beginning in 2012 under the new energy law just approved by Congress. Although this will reduce electricity costs and minimize new bulb purchases in every household in America, you may be feeling in the dark about the loss of your old, relatively reliable source of light. Here's a primer on the light bulb phase-out and what will mean to you:

Why are they taking my light bulbs away? Moving to more efficient lighting is one of the lowest-cost ways for the nation to reduce electricity use and greenhouse gases. In fact, it actually will save households money because of lower utility bills. Ninety percent of the energy that an incandescent light bulb burns is wasted as heat. And yet, sales of the most common high-efficiency bulb available--the compact fluorescent (CFL)--amount to only 5 percent of the light bulb market. Earlier this year, Australia became the first country to announce an outright ban by 2010 on incandescent bulbs. The changeover in the United States will be more gradual, not mandated to begin until 2012 and phased out through 2014. However, don't be surprised if some manufacturers phase out earlier.

How do I save money, when a CFL costs six times as much as an old-fashioned bulb? Each cone-shaped spiral CFL costs about $3, compared with 50 cents for a standard bulb. But a CFL uses about 75 percent less energy and lasts five years instead of a few months. A household that invested $90 in changing 30 fixtures to CFLs would save $440 to $1,500 over the five-year life of the bulbs, depending on your cost of electricity. Look at your utility bill and imagine a 12 percent discount to estimate the savings.

I've heard that CFLs don't really last as long as they say. Turning a CFL on and off frequently shortens its life, which is why the government's Energy Star program says to leave them on for at least 15 minutes at a time. Also, if you have dimmable light fixtures, make sure to buy CFLs labeled "dimmable." All CFLs that carry the government's Energy Star label are required to carry a two-year limited warranty, so contact the manufacturer if your bulb burns out prematurely. The Energy Star website has a good FAQ on CFLs.

I don't think that I like the color of the light from CFLs. When they first hit the market, CFLs had a limited range of tones. Now, manufacturers offer a wider variety, but there is not an agreed-upon labeling standard. The Energy Star program is working to change that. But for now, look for lower "Kelvin temperatures" like 2,700 to 3,000 for "redder" light, closer to old-fashioned incandescent bulbs, while bulbs with Kelvin temperatures of 5,000 and 6,500 provide more "blue" and intense light. A good photograph illustrating the difference is shown here.

I've heard that CFLs have mercury in them--isn't that bad? Consumers are rightly concerned about the toxic substance mercury that helps CFLs produce light. Even though the amount sealed in each bulb is small--one old-fashioned thermometer had about 100 times as much mercury--contact local trash collection for disposal instructions. Environmentalists agree that more work must be done on bulb recycling programs. Right now, you can return any CFL to any Ikea store for recycling, and the Environmental Protection Agency and Earth911 have sites you can search for other recycling programs near your home.

But if you break a CFL, you'll have a toxic spill in your home. Maine's Department of Environmental Protection has developed the best advice on the procedures to follow if a CFL breaks. Don't use a vacuum. Maine officials studied the issue because of a homeowner in that state who received a $2,000 light bulb clean-up bill from an environmental hazards company--a story that has circulated around the country and increased consumer concerns about CFLs. It turns out that the company's advice was overkill, and a subsequent analysis showed no hazard in the home. But the bulbs must be handled with caution. Using a drop cloth might be a good new routine to develop when screwing in a light bulb, to make the clean-up of any breaks easier.

By the way, don't think that incandescent bulbs are mercury free. In the United States, the chances are at least 50 percent that their light is generated by a coal-powered plant featuring mercury as well as other types of pollution. Popular Mechanics recently crunched the numbers to find that even if the mercury in a CFL was directly released into the atmosphere, an incandescent would still contribute almost double that amount of mercury into the environment over its lifetime.

Isn't there efficient lighting without mercury? Yes. By 2012, the chances are good that consumers will have many more options to replace incandescent bulbs. Manufacturers already are deploying advanced incandescent bulbs that are efficient enough to stay on the market after 2012, although they are not yet as efficient as CFLs. Even more exciting are the developments with light-emitting diodes (LEDs), which are jazzing up holiday lighting. The European electronics firm Philips this year acquired several pioneering small technology companies and plans a big push to make LEDs practical for ordinary lighting purposes. The lights on the New Year's Eve Times Square Ball could one day brighten your home. LEDs last even longer than CFLs and will make bulb buying more like an appliance purchase than a throw-away item.

Is Thomas Edison turning over in his grave? Perhaps, but the incandescent bulb has had a good run, with the technology little changed since 1879, when Edison produced light with a carbonized thread from his wife's sewing box. The breakthrough that ushered civilization out of the candle era was so revolutionary that the light bulb itself became the culture's iconic image to illustrate any thought, brainstorm, or idea. But energy-efficient bulbs are a better idea, says Andrew deLaski, director of the Appliance Standards Awareness Project. "It's hugely important," he says. "A 60 to 70 percent reduction in light bulb energy use will save as much energy annually as that used by all the homes in Texas last year." That's a big savings."

"Boyer traces the historical creation of the vacuum as proceeding in stages in parallel with the historical development of ideas about the vacuum. To paraphrase, he says that in the 17th century, it was thought that a totally empty volume of space could be created by simply removing all matter and, in particular, all gases. That was our first concept of the vacuum. Just get rid of all the gas.

Late in the 19th century, it became apparent that the region still contained thermal radiation. But it seemed that the radiation might be eliminated by cooling. So the second concept of getting a real vacuum is to cool it down to zero temperature. Just go all the way to absolute zero. Then we've got a real vacuum. Right. Well, since then, both theory and experiment have shown that there is a non-thermal radiation in the vacuum and that it persists even if the temperature could be lowered to absolute zero. Therefore, it was simply called the "zero point" radiation."

Green plastics find cautious market

"CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Target offers shoppers an unusual message about its gift cards at some stores, advising that they are biodegradable. "Just make sure you spend them first," the displays conclude.

This isn't just a marketing gimmick. Plastics made from corn and other plants are carving a tiny niche from the market for conventional petroleum-based plastics and being touted as green alternatives for everything from bulk food containers to lipstick tubes and clothing fiber — as well as gift cards.

So-called "bioplastics" offer the world a way to wean itself off oil, and most biodegrade to varying degrees. But their makers' green argument is complex, and environmentalists are cautious in their support.

Manufacturing bioplastics produces carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming. The materials are made from crops — corn, switchgrass, sugar cane, even sweet potatoes — that require land and water to grow. Some sound alarms because genetically modified organisms are used to spur the fermentation that creates them. And recycling them presents still other pitfalls.

They also can cost three times more than conventional plastics, which gives businesses pause about adopting them. Until bioplastics expand beyond their current tiny fraction of the overall plastics market, the road to popularity is expected to be rough.

"It's almost a chicken-and-egg scenario," said David Cornell of the Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers. "It might someday reach that critical mass, but it has to happen very quickly, because in the meantime it can be a nuisance for us."

Bioplastics' main benefit would be to reduce from 10 percent the share of U.S. petroleum consumption that goes into plastic. The types that are biodegradable also could help compensate for the country's slow progress in recycling — only about 6 percent of plastic made in the U.S. was recycled in 2005, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Bioplastics also lack toxins like polyvinyl chloride that have raised health concerns and led California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger this month to sign legislation banning chemicals called phthalates from toys and baby products.

"This is a promising new technology that faces some challenges," said Mike Schade of the Center for Health, Environment & Justice, a Falls Church, Va.-based nonprofit. "But we don't view them as insurmountable, if the industry is willing to face them head-on."

The market's newest entrant is Mirel, from Cambridge-based Metabolix Inc. It more easily biodegrades than rival materials and, unlike others, can break down in a backyard compost bin. Its first consumer application came in July when Target Corp. began using it in gift cards at 129 stores. Metabolix is talking with potential clients about dozens more applications for Mirel, from razor blade handles to a coating for disposable coffee cups.

Agricultural processor Archer Daniels Midland Co. provides corn feedstock for making Mirel, which requires genetically engineered bacteria to aid in fermentation.

The most widely used bioplastic, NatureWorks — a product of a subsidiary of Minnesota-based Cargill Inc. — also is corn-based and biodegradable. It is made without genetically modified bacteria. Some of the corn that goes into it is modified, raising environmental concerns on the sourcing end, but the company notes that protein from the corn is destroyed in processing. NatureWorks already is used in dozens of products, including water bottles — an application unsuited to Mirel, which isn't transparent.

Other bioplastics that biodegrade to some degree include Ecoflex, from German chemical company BASF AG; Mater-Bi, from Italy's Novamont SPA; and Cereplast, from a Hawthorne, Calif.-based company by the same name. And two major conventional plastics makers — DuPont Co. and Brazilian chemical company Braskem SA — make recyclable bioplastic that isn't biodegradable, the first from corn and the second from sugar cane.

No figures are available on overall bioplastics production, but bioplastics makers acknowledge the products occupy a tiny niche in the global plastics market, which totals $250 billion and produces 360 billion pounds a year. By comparison, the 300 million pound capacity of NatureWorks' Nebraska production plant is less than one-tenth of 1 percent of the market total.

For most biodegradable bioplastics, including NatureWorks, an industrial compost plant is recommended — facilities that are few and far between. The products are stable in places where microbes and moisture are minimal, as on a kitchen shelf. Metabolix says Mirel will decompose in a backyard compost within two months and about twice as slowly in soil, rivers, lakes or the ocean. But very few Americans compost, and most who do try not to include even paper products, let alone unfamiliar bioplastics.

"There's a lot more to it than saying it's scientifically and technologically possible to compost these materials," said Betty McLaughlin of the Container Recycling Institute, a nonprofit encouraging greater materials recovery and recycling.

And, just as different types of petroleum-base plastic can't be mixed in recycling, bioplastics should not be mixed with any conventional plastic because even tiny quantities can irreparably contaminate some melted petroleum-based plastics that have higher melting points, Cornell said.

"The sustainability concept is taking hold broadly, including in the corporate sector," said McLaughlin. "But these materials face a long road gaining acceptance."

A major bump on that road will be their cost. But, in another chicken-and-egg paradox, growing the market for bioplastics is key to bringing down their price, industry leaders said. NatureWorks says its production costs are just 10 percent to 20 percent above those of conventional plastics. Companies buying Mirel pay about $2.50 a pound, compared with 70 cents to 90 cents for petroleum-based resin, although the price difference is expected to shrink as quantities grow and oil prices rise.

Tamara Nameroff, acting director of the American Chemical Society's Green Chemistry Institute, said being as good as the product it replaces is not good enough for any green product, "even if you've proved you can make it environmentally friendly."

"You have to show a cost advantage to what it's replacing," she said. "The idea that people just want to purchase environmentally friendly products has been demonstrated in some markets, but not universally."

Though most consumers lack the patience to sort out all the arguments, environmental friendliness can sell. Ralph DiMatteo, 48, of Painesville Township, Ohio, said after learning Sam's Club gift cards are made of NatureWorks plastic that he would buy them as holiday gifts.

"I don't spend a lot of time researching these kinds of things, but if something is presented to me properly to show how my effort can make a difference for the environment, I'm willing to pay a couple extra cents," DiMatteo said.

For now, Metabolix is banking on that kind of attitude, said co-founder and chief scientific officer Oliver Peoples.

"We believe that there is a segment of the population that is willing to pay to basically feel better about using plastics," Peoples said. "And if a company decided it wanted to go in that direction of charging $2.03 for a cup of coffee rather than $2, our view is that we're adding something to their brand."

House approves new oil company taxes

"WASHINGTON - Declaring a new direction in energy policy, the House on Saturday approved $16 billion in taxes on oil companies, while providing billions of dollars in tax breaks and incentives for renewable energy and conservation efforts.

Republican opponents said the legislation ignored the need to produce more domestic oil, natural gas and coal. One GOP lawmaker bemoaned "the pure venom ... against the oil and gas industry."

The House passed the tax provisions by a vote of 221-189. Earlier it had approved, 241-172, a companion energy package aimed at boosting energy efficiency and expanding use of biofuels, wind power and other renewable energy sources.

"We are turning to the future," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The two bills, passed at an unusual Saturday session as lawmakers prepared to leave town for their monthlong summer recess, will be merged with legislation passed by the Senate in June.

On one of the most contentious and heavily lobbied issues, the House voted to require investor-owned electric utilities nationwide to generate at least 15 percent of their electricity from renewable energy sources such as wind or biofuels.

The utilities and business interests had argued aggressively against the federal renewables mandate, saying it would raise electricity prices in regions of the country that do not have abundant wind energy. But environmentalists said the requirement will spur investments in renewable fuels and help address global warming as utilities use less coal.

"This will save consumers money," said Rep. Tom Udall, D-N.M., the provision's co-sponsor, maintaining utilities will have to use less high-priced natural gas. He noted that nearly half the states already have a renewable energy mandate for utilities, and if utilities can't find enough renewable they can meet part of the requirement through power conservation measures.

The bill also calls for more stringent energy efficiency standards for appliances and lighting and incentives for building more energy-efficient "green" buildings. It would authorize special bonds for cities and counties to reduce energy demand.

Pelosi, D-Calif., said it was essential to commit to renewable energy while reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Doing so, she said, will help address global warming and make the country more energy-independent.

"It's about our children, about our future, the world in which they live," Pelosi said.

Democrats avoided a nasty fight by ignoring — at least for the time being — calls for automakers to make vehicles more fuel-efficient. Cars, sport utility vehicles and small trucks use most of the country's oil and produce almost one-third of the carbon dioxide emissions linked to global warming.

That issue, as well as whether to require huge increases in the use of corn-based ethanol as a substitute for gasoline, were left to be thrashed out when the House bill is merged with energy legislation the Senate passed in June.

Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland said he was confident the final bill that will go to President Bush will contain a significant increase in automobile fuel economy requirements.

"This is a historic turn away from a fossil fuel agenda toward renewable energy. It's been a long time in coming," said Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass., in an interview. Markey abandoned efforts to get an auto mileage provision into the bill, but also expressed confidence one will be added during negotiations with the Senate. The Senate in passing energy legislation in June called for a 40 percent increase auto mileage to 35 mpg by 2020.

Republicans said the House bill did nothing to increase domestic oil and natural gas production or take further advantage of coal, the country's most abundant domestic energy resource.

"There's a war going on against energy from fossil fuels," said Rep. Ralph Hall, R-Texas. "I can't understand the pure venom felt against the oil and gas industry."

Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, said the bill was "a political exercise" to promote "pet projects, ... pet ideas." He predicted it "isn't going anywhere" because President Bush will veto it if it gets to his desk.

The White House indicated President Bush might veto the bill if he gets it saying it makes "no serious attempts to increase our energy security or address high energy costs" and would harm domestic oil and gas production.

The bill would repeal for oil companies a tax breaks given in 2004 to help domestic manufacturers compete against foreign companies, and another tax break pertaining to income from foreign oil production. Critics of the two tax provisions called them loopholes that the industry had taken advantage of.

The House-passed bill also includes an array of loan guarantees, federal grants and tax breaks for alternative energy programs. They include building biomass factories, research into making ethanol from wood chips and prairie grasses and producing better batteries for hybrid gas-electric automobiles.

The legislation would end a tax break for buying large SUVs, known as the "Hummer tax loophole" because it allows people who buy some of the most expensive SUVs to write off much of the cost."

Positive planetary climate change requires positive planetary consciousness change. http://www.DarkMother.com

Twenty years ago, I was sitting in my little studio in Los Angeles, CA, sequencing and recording the first acoustic translations of the Mayan Sacred Calendar, the Tzolkin, and shifting into what was being called the "Harmonic Convergence." Throughout the convergence, the acoustic translations of the Tzolkin's 20 Sacred Signs were being broadcast through my house and yard via the only radio transmission system accessible to me at the time, an el cheapo walkie talkie. Lolol... Hey, gotta do what ya gotta do and, having "coincidentally" translated the Tzolkin into sound only months before, my intention was to insure that the planet's ethereal body received both the galactic radio transmission and a local radio transmission of the [concentrated] Tzolkin's currents, simultaneously. It was the least I could do for the planet and, although I had the least of the consumer broadcasting possibilities, I got the job done. (A little leaven leavens the whole loaf.) Since that auspicious transit, the world's consciousness has followed a predicted course toward collective enlightenment, on and relative to all levels of society. Now, here we are, 20 years later, poised on the precipice of (and rapidly accelerating into) the most profound shift in planetary consciousness the world has ever experienced. Fortunately, the ancient Maya priests who foresaw this time also perceived and left us the Tzolkin as a tool to help us transit this period successfully.

Here is the fundamental value of the Tzolkin; it is a Key unlocking the Archetypal Properties embodied in cycles of the 4th dimension, Time, that enable us to ascend into higher levels of Life and being human (in the Highest sense of the word). Time is about periodicity, frequency. Basically, Consciousness, the All in all, uses Time to effect change in the 3rd, 2nd and 1st dimensions. The Tzolkin is a map of how Consciousness does so relative to the expression of specific Aspects of Itself. The Tzolkin is a table of the Logic embodying specific, cyclic Patterns of Time facilitating the expression of those Aspects through all states of manifestation via electromagnetic radiation. When those Patterns are expressed in their purest Form, i.e. electromagnetic frequency, e.g. sound or light, that expression effects a psychoactive, ethereal bridge to the 4th dimension and the Consciousness that generates, progresses and sustains all that is.

At this time, the world understands the principals of using complimentary sounds to effect brain synchronization and cognitive enhancement. Now, we understand the validity of using tone to effect remarkable physiological and psychological shifts. Furthermore, we not only accept, we embrace the mathematical plausibility of a multidimensional universe beyond the accepted 4 dimensions; length, width, height/depth and time. Today, we understand the unity of these dimensions and of all things in such a way that we can comprehend how certain harmonic patterns transmitted in the 3D expression of Life may effect links to their concurrent Life expressions in the 4D, 5D and higher realms. We understand that sound can be used to effect vibrational states whereby higher levels of perception and informations are obtained. And now, as a result of the Tzolkin acoustic translations, we are capable of taking an ordinary CD and tangibly applying dynamics of the 4th dimension to radically and positively progress individual and communal consciousness, health and vitality.

Jesus (the Christ, not Martinez) said "They that have ears to hear, let them hear." He knew not everyone was prepared to hear the enlightening Truth that Consciousness was pouring through him, nevertheless, he spoke so those who could hear It would have the opportunity to do so. I'm sure there are many people reading this who are dismissing the above as New Age delusion, at best, and that does not negate the validity of what I'm sharing, nor of my experience and the experiences of many others who have used the Tzolkin acoustic translations. At one point, we lacked the instruments to confirm we live in an heliocentric planetary system, that information can be transmitted across open air without wires, that our cells are individual microcomputers. We may not have the instruments required to validate string theory or the practical linking of our 3D experience to the vital currents of the 4th and higher dimensions using sound and/or light, however we will. Those who do or may understand and are seeking the value of the easily applied tools for personal enhancement such as the Tzolkin translations (who share this online community) deserve to hear now, and they can.

The Live Earth concerts!! Wow, speaking of hearing, the sound quality was incredible. I was online through most of the event, jumping from country to country, continent to continent. I heard a lot of great music and I heard a consistent message. The message is that we are ready to drop our individual b.s. and start making the necessary shifts in consciousness and personal responsibility necessary for planetary survival and well being. It was a motivating experience. Being motivated to directly further the positive planetary consciousness shift, I have decided to offer my company's mp3CD versions of the 4 most fundamental and dynamic Tzolkin acoustic translations at 1/2 price for 260 days, beginning July 11, (2007). The Tzolkin is a 260-day Calendar; if we're gonna do a Tzolkin music sale for the sake of raising planetary consciousness, we might as well do it for a full Calendrical cycle. (Otherwise, it's just a sale, and that's not what this is about.) The translations are among the most powerful and effective cognitive and personal enhancement tools available -- more comprehensively and enduringly effective than Hemi-Sync, Holo-Sync and other similar products -- at a very low and reasonable price for such products. Nonetheless, it's a pivotal time, and I would have DMG/DarkMother.com assist in the process of planetary ascension by making the core of our product line "Ascension" available to millions more people by simply making it more affordable.

Positive planetary climate change begins with positive planetary consciousness change. "They that have ears to hear, let them hear." Come, hear and experience Ascension @ http://www.DarkMother.com

90-Minute Special Hosted by Award Winning Author and Journalist Thomas L. Friedman

Award winning author and journalist Thomas L. Friedman travels the globe to unravel the tangled web of where Americans get energy, and reveals what viewers can do about their carbon footprint. Friedman visits the front lines of an energy revolution that is just taking shape, and reveals what is at stake for not only America but the world. The world premiere special GREEN: THE NEW RED, WHITE AND BLUE airs Saturday, April 21 at 9:00 PM (ET/PT) on Discovery Channel.

In GREEN: THE NEW RED, WHITE AND BLUE, Friedman, author of The World is Flat, sets out to discover how the greening of America could change the way we live. The United States is at the beginning of a surge toward green energy, powered by the sun, wind, water and even grass, but it will not be enough. The key is clean carbon-free energy, on a huge scale. Friedman explores many sources of carbon-free energy, including some that might sound counter- intuitive, such as coal and nuclear energy.

Visiting companies that are making a difference, such as Google, Wal-Mart and Texas Instruments, Friedman shares the energy-saving methods they are taking. Google is using hydro-electric power created by a dam while Wal-Mart is cutting by a third what each store spends on energy and doubling the fuel efficiency of its trucking fleet. Friedman also, Friedman explores ways that the Green family can help the environment with the cars they drive investigating ways that automobile manufacturers are experimenting with hybrid electricity-powered cars.

GM targets 2010 production for electric car

GENEVA (Reuters) - General Motors Corp (NYSE:GM - news) has set a target for production of an all-electric car in 2010, GM's product chief and Vice Chairman Bob Lutz said on Tuesday.

Lutz said the major uncertainty facing the Chevrolet Volt, a concept vehicle GM unveiled in January, was whether lithium-ion batteries can be developed to power it economically and safely.

A running Volt prototype is expected by the end of 2007, he said, adding that GM would take the unusual step of opening much of its development process to the media.

"We have set an internal target of production in 2010. Whether we can make that or not, this is still kind of an unpredictable program for us," Lutz told reporters on the sidelines of the Geneva auto show.

He added: "We're sort of outside our comfort zone."

GM detailed its broad plans for the all-electric Volt at the Detroit auto show, but the world's No. 1 automaker declined then to disclose a production timeline.

Some critics and competitors questioned whether GM, which has been hurt recently by its association with gas-guzzling sport utility vehicles and trucks, would produce the Volt or might just look to capitalize on the favorable attention that its concept car generated.

"Competitors who write this off as a PR exercise are going to be brutally surprised," Lutz said.

Electric cars, including plug-in hybrids like the Volt, have drawn strong support from U.S. environmental groups, which see such vehicles as a way to reduce oil consumption and greenhouse gas emissions since they can be recharged with power drawn from a cleaner-burning electric grid.

GM scrapped an earlier experiment with an electric car marketed in California as the EV1, an unpopular decision that made it the target of criticism and the 2006 documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car?"

But GM billed the Volt as a return to the once-failed idea of a mass-market electric car. The Volt is intended to draw its power exclusively from a next-generation battery pack capable of being recharged by a small onboard engine or a normal electric outlet.

GM has said it is aiming for the Volt to be able to run for 40 miles on pure electric power, meaning many commuters would be able to get through a day without using gasoline.

Lutz said GM's initial work had shown that the production version of the Volt would have to shed some of the bold styling cues of the concept, including the extreme front placement of the wheels.

"I know we cannot make the production car look like the concept," he said. "The whole shape of the car is going to have to be a little more traditional."

Lutz also said there was still a chance that the concept could prove unworkable. "I would say there is still a 10 percent chance this will fail," he said.

Separately, Lutz said GM's 11-percent rise in U.S. retail sales in February suggested that the automaker was starting to find traction with new products after a wrenching restructuring that cut over 34,000 factory jobs.

"One swallow does not a summer make, but I think it's turning," he said.
The New Energy Movement Introduces Draft Legislation for New Energy Bill to U.S. Congress
Joel Garbon, New Energy Movement President

A spirited grassroots nonprofit organization, The New Energy Movement (NEM), has quietly made remarkable progress in its mission to educate the public and policymakers about the need to support emerging new energy technologies. Publicly launched a little more than two years ago at its inaugural international conference in Portland, Oregon, NEM’s dedicated all-volunteer staff has plowed ahead despite little fanfare and only small trickles of funding. A major leap forward was made recently on the heels of meetings with key legislators, culminating in draft legislation for a new energy bill currently titled the “Energy Innovation Act of 2007.” Congressional briefings are underway in Washington, D.C. in support of the historic legislation. This represents an unprecedented opportunity to generate highly-visible and broadly supported federal funding for new and unconventional energy technologies.

The door was opened when in September 2006 U.S. Representative Dennis Kucinich (Ohio) asked Dr. Brian O’Leary, co-founder of The New Energy Movement, if the leadership of NEM could provide him with a draft of proposed new energy legislation, emphasizing that this is a matter of urgent Congressional priority. Congressman Kucinich remarked that dozens of his colleagues were prepared to be co-sponsors of a new energy bill, and had intentions of introducing it in the next Congressional session starting in January 2007. He also shortly afterward announced his candidacy for the 2008 Presidential campaign. There is little doubt that NEM’s proposed legislation will be a centerpiece of his campaign, and will catalyze a tremendous jump in the American public’s awareness, enthusiasm, and support for the vital initiatives it contains.

O’Leary contacted Joel Garbon, President of NEM, about the legislative opportunity and plans were quickly put in place for Garbon to travel to O’Leary’s retreat center in Vilcabamba, Ecuador to begin crafting the draft. Garbon committed to composing the detailed legislation over the following six weeks and headed back home to Portland, Oregon to begin the real work. In mid-December, the completed draft was sent to select members of NEM’s Advisory Board and to members of the inventor community who provided valuable counsel in the drafting process. With an enthusiastic thumbs up from the reviewers, the draft was sent on to Congressman Kucinich on Christmas Eve.

Just prior to taking on the legislative project, Garbon had the remarkable opportunity to engage U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (Washington) on the topic of new energy R&D support. In October, he was invited to appear with Senator Cantwell at a campaign press conference to deliver the message of NEM to a large group of her constituents. Cantwell and her staff had worked hard to produce a comprehensive energy bill that she was promoting during her re-election campaign. Garbon had recently favorably influenced one of Cantwell’s regional staff directors to delve into the new energy arena, and the call to speak at the side of the Senator came just a few weeks later. Garbon’s address to the large group of assembled constituents was brief and focused to convey a few key points:

— The global warming challenge is serious and is considered an urgent priority, as communicated to both the public and privately to NEM leaders by NASA’s top scientists.

— The public’s present embrace of conventional renewable energy technologies (wind, solar, biofuels, etc.) is certainly a positive indicator of receptivity to required changes in the way we generate energy. However, policymakers and the public have fallen dangerously under the illusion that these technologies will solve the global warming, energy security, pollution, and energy-related geopolitical/military conflicts that challenge our nation and all of humanity at this time. Even greatly accelerated, these conventional technologies are woefully inadequate to get us where we need to go and as fast as we need to get there. Only a serious and committed public program of funding support for new and unconventional approaches to energy generation will provide the quantum leap in technology that is urgently required.

— Many of these promising concepts/technologies are springing up on in the workshops and laboratories of inventors and scientists worldwide, including here in the U.S., yet they languish for lack of funding support. We need a massive and publicly accountable jumpstart program for these visionary inventors.

— Incrementalism, vested interest cronyism, and political bickering only serve to waste precious time as our planet’s atmosphere and terrestrial and marine resources continue to degrade. Our children’s futures demand a bold new initiative, grounded in scientific reality, maturity, and wisdom. The New Energy Movement advocates true solutions from this grounding.

As Garbon had experienced in addresses to other civic gatherings, the large group of citizens gathered at the press conference connected with this message, and responded with a rousing ovation. Senator Cantwell and her staff took note of this as well. The public instinctively knows that NEM’s message is authentic. And they know that the weak, compromised partial measures of business-as-usual in Washington will doom our country, and perhaps our planet, if allowed to proceed in the vacuum of true and serious leadership on these urgent issues. Many of the Senator’s constituents came up to NEM’s president immediately after the press conference and asked how they can help.

That occasion was an auspicious one for NEM’s leadership and provided a conduit into a key new energy champion in the Senate. While Cantwell’s Senate Bill 2829 is comprehensive, the provisions for new energy R&D are not well fleshed out. Her bill calls for the establishment of an Office of Advanced Energy Research, Technology Development, and Deployment in the Department of Energy. It also would have the Director of the new Office appointed by the Secretary of Energy. In the view of NEM’s leadership and its advisors, including many from the inventor community, those provisions demonstrate a general lack of knowledge of the history of the DOE when it comes to open-mindedness and support of breakthrough new energy technology. Far from being a strong advocate of new energy science and technology, many claim that the DOE has been obstructionist. Cold fusion researchers would have a case here.

NEM’s draft legislation of the “Energy Innovation Act of 2007” carefully considers the time urgency of our global environmental, resource depletion, socioeconomic, and geopolitical challenges and the high stakes at play with breakthrough energy technology, and makes provisions to address the real-world temptation by vested interests to erect roadblocks to any serious initiatives. It assumes the position that placement of a new Office of Energy Innovation (or Cantwell’s analogue) in the DOE would be a naïve blunder, and instead opts for placement of the Office as a Joint Congressional agency. And to strengthen the transparency and public accountability of such an Office, NEM’s legislation calls for a Citizen Oversight Council to monitor the Office’s activities.

The summary of NEM’s “Energy Innovation Act of 2007” is as follows:

— Establishes and funds a new Joint Congressional Office of Energy Innovation

— Assigns to the Office of Energy Innovation the following mission:

— Identify and rapidly advance new and unconventional approaches to energy generation in recognition of their critical importance to the United States’ national and energy security and their potential as valuable solutions to urgent global environmental and resource depletion issues.

— Accelerate small business early-stage research and development of new and unconventional approaches to energy generation through awards of modified Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grants and loan guarantees designed to fund up to five years of R&D.

— Perform initial and biannual technical assessments of candidate technologies through collaboration with contract consultants and various qualified university, private, and national laboratories.

— Track progress of candidate technologies through annual progress reports.

— Engage the American public’s enthusiasm and support for new energy options through high-profile publication of award recipients, general descriptions of the technologies, and nonproprietary summaries of technical assessments and annual progress reports.
— Establishes an independent and publicly accountable Citizen Oversight Council to monitor the Office of Energy Innovation and ensure compliance with its stated mission.

The legislation is quite specific as to what is and is not included as a “new and unconventional approach to energy generation.” The full draft will be made publicly available on NEM’s website (www.NewEnergyMovement.org) by the end of January, after its Congressional champions have been formally briefed.

NEM and its advisors will be conducting an ongoing series of briefings to key members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate and their respective legislative staffs. These briefings began in December 2006 and will get into full swing in late January and into February 2007. They represent a huge commitment of time and resources for the small volunteer staff of NEM. The projected cost for the 2007 briefings is $100,000. NEM is counting on the broad financial support of citizens who are aligned with its purpose to help carry out this important phase of the larger and vital mission to safeguard the well-being of our country, the human family, and our planet.

I ask that NEM’s friends and supporters give serious and immediate consideration to the request for financial aid to achieve the near-term goal of favorably influencing new energy legislation. We also welcome any outreach efforts you might make to your network of allied individuals and organizations on NEM’s behalf. I strongly believe that we have within our grasp the precious opportunity of a tipping-point regarding our citizens’ and government’s embrace of serious support for advanced new energy technology. Thank you for playing a key role in leveraging this opportunity.

The God Genome

Cuneiform Tablets from Sumeria upon which many creation stories are based offer some clues about today’s technologies and their relation to nature.

1) - “The “creating gods/angels” called “Elohim” in the Hebrew book of Genesis, and identified as “extraterrestrials by modern scholars, came from the sky.

2) - They “created” man and many species of plant and animal life on earth and throughout the heavens.

3) - The “Tree of Life” (Genome) and the “Tree of Knowledge” (Data-Base) are the same tree in the original tablets, but are identified as separate entities in the Bible version. Because genetic information is stored as bar-code on computer and because consciousness itself is essentially mathematical codes the 2 trees are in fact one, but need be identified as separate elements also to enhance understanding of their functions.

The technology of genetics is revealing today exactly how this “original” creation took place; recently translated tablets state that a breed of extraterrestrial beings spliced some of their intelligence genes into pre-existing primates on earth to create “thinking-man (Homosapiens). Many myths (e.g. Talmud) indicate several subsequent metamorphic genetic modifications to man, which occurred overnight and are attributed to “angels” rather evolution.
The pre-existing primate having evolved from a “seed/spore” designed to adapt mutate and evolve, which was spread throughout the universe by the same creators … once it evolves to complex life forms they are then “modified” (GM) to suit the creator’s purpose, according to the planetary conditions they land in.

The Bible says that the gods withdrew the Tree of Life from the Garden of Eden (a virtual paradise where machines did the work of men) lest he would live forever after receiving the data-base (internet) and become equal to the gods, knowing both the good and evil (paradox of life).
The gods placed 4 agents called “cherubim” around the earth to contain it, they have explosive devices (a “sword” = weapon of fire , which bursts forth in every direction, to destroy the earth before man can finish his work on decoding the genome to gain eternal life. This is the revelation of Atomic Technology (the A-Bomb).

These gods/angels from the sky master the elements we know as space-time and energy-matter, work on recovered saucers after 1947 has resulted in the back engineering of “Antigravity Propulsion Technology” and “Point Zero Energy” which is a free form of residual energy from the big bang and which permeates all space and matter.

The Bible tells that in the last days of this world that all the mysteries (secrets of God’s power) of god will be revealed. I submit that they are all revealed now through the technologies mentioned … being Genetic Engineering, Nuclear Physics, Antigravity Propulsion, and Point Zero Energy.
The other side of this theory is that “the gods” actually come from earth and are the best (most creative) minds evolution can produce, and the best predators, in business for example, accumulating data riches and power until they are able to build the space-time saucers and transcend the earth and its limitations. Again through pure intelligence. For reasons of intellectual property they do not allow what they develop to be left behind for others to abuse and destroy it.
Whether these gods come from heaven, earth, or both, they exhibit a position of mastery and superiority over their servants, hence the title “lords”.

So in short the actual reason for the world’s destruction is that there is a form of intelligence used by these gods which they “contain” on the host planet(s) to be used as a tool not to be released into the heavens. “World” is term used to describe a global civilization, not necessarily a planet. There are 5 “worlds” in the Maya stories (a cosmological cycle of 25,800 years = 1 star-precession cycle) and 4 in the Hebrew story (a cycle 6000 years … approx. ¼ of the 25,800 year S.P. cycle).

To understand the Bible it is necessary to understand the metaphorical terminologies and symbols which are consistent throughout the whole book, as well as throughout all related books which include several hundred rabbinical books the best known being the Talmud and the Kabala. As well as throughout many related cultural languages.

Tree of Life = Genome = Family Tree = Heritage
Tree of Knowledge = Data Base = World-Wide-Web (a terrestrial version of a system used by the creating gods).
Light = Intelligence = Love/Understanding = Brilliance = Good
Darkness = Ignorance = Evil =
Serpent: An ancient symbol of knowledge.
Fruit: Most recent offspring of a given genome, a result.
Cherubim = Chariot = extraterrestrial saucer, not engineered on earth.

The Vedic scripts and other religious texts state that all life and the material plain which supports are manifestations of pure (divine) consciousness (intelligence) which is exactly what this theory describes, a consciousness so advanced that it is probable that universal dimensions are in themselves created through the same formulas as are, an understanding so immense that it can only be described as love.
A more in-depth study of this subject with all scripture references is available in the book Angels.

Because the beginning and the end happen simultaneously it is important to understand that the prophesies in Revelation of the end of time and the creation story of Genesis have repeatedly happened together through the 4/5 worlds.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Alexander Karsner today announced that with DOE funding, a concentrator solar cell produced by Boeing-Spectrolab has recently achieved a world-record conversion efficiency of 40.7 percent, establishing a new milestone in sunlight-to-electricity performance. This breakthrough may lead to systems with an installation cost of only $3 per watt, producing electricity at a cost of 8-10 cents per kilowatt/hour, making solar electricity a more cost-competitive and integral part of our nation’s energy mix.

“Reaching this milestone heralds a great achievement for the Department of Energy and for solar energy engineering worldwide,” Assistant Secretary Karsner said. “We are eager to see this accomplishment translate into the marketplace as soon as possible, which has the potential to help reduce our nation’s reliance on imported oil and increase our energy security.”

Attaining a 40 percent efficient concentrating solar cell means having another technology pathway for producing cost-effective solar electricity. Almost all of today’s solar cell modules do not concentrate sunlight but use only what the sun produces naturally, what researchers call “one sun insolation,” which achieves an efficiency of 12 to 18 percent. However, by using an optical concentrator, sunlight intensity can be increased, squeezing more electricity out of a single solar cell.

The 40.7 percent cell was developed using a unique structure called a multi-junction solar cell. This type of cell achieves a higher efficiency by capturing more of the solar spectrum. In a multi-junction cell, individual cells are made of layers, where each layer captures part of the sunlight passing through the cell. This allows the cell to get more energy from the sun’s light.

For the past two decades researchers have tried to break the “40 percent efficient” barrier on solar cell devices. In the early 1980s, DOE began researching what are known as “multi-junction gallium arsenide-based solar cell devices,” multi-layered solar cells which converted about 16 percent of the sun’s available energy into electricity. In 1994, DOE’s National Renewable Energy laboratory broke the 30 percent barrier, which attracted interest from the space industry. Most satellites today use these multi-junction cells.

Reaching 40 percent efficiency helps further President Bush’s Solar America Initiative (SAI) goals, which aims to win nationwide acceptance of clean solar energy technologies by 2015. By then, it is intended that America will have enough solar energy systems installed to provide power to one to two million homes, at a cost of 5 to 10 cents per kilowatt/hour. The SAI is also key component of President Bush’s Advanced Energy Initiative, which provides a 22 percent increase in research and development funding at DOE
